Betahaus Barcelona Olga Rodriguez

Our Members: Olga Rodríguez

Today in our random interview, we have Olga Rodríguez.

What can we say about her? She’s the kind of friend you need in your life if you want to know about the latest releases in the literature world.

You know that feeling when you finish your book, and you ask yourself: What should I read next? Olga’s got you covered! 🙂📚

What’s your name? for what company do you work? and what do you do?

Hi, I’m Olga! And I work at Bookish.
“What is Bookish?“, you’ll ask 🤔.
Bookish is a book box subscription: You pay every month and we send you a surprise book every month. But not just any book, we have read them ALL (or almost, hehe) and we send you the best book of the month. But not only that! We also include other accessories for you to fall in love with the reading: a reading guide with the secrets of the book that you may have overlooked, a tea to enjoy a hot drink with your book, a bookmark… We have even sent some fortune cookies 🥠 😉

What keeps you passionate about your job?

On the one hand, the literary part. I love reading and I have the opportunity to be one of the first people in the world to read a book because we selected it months before it reaches a bookstore.
On the other hand, the business part. I am the marketing manager and I like to think that the marketing strategy and my actions make this project grow. It reconciles me with the world to think that our work makes people read more.

What project are you most proud of?

A few months ago we released Bookids, a book box subscription for kids. After working for so long trying to get adults to read more, we realized that what we have to achieve is that children never stop reading. It’s moving to see our little readers so excited about their new book every month.

What’s your ritual to get into a flow state?

I start the morning doing some exercise to activate the body and then a short meditation to focus the mind. I am not going to say that this is the daily ritual… but when I do it, the day flows by itself.

Then it’s time to motivate the spirit: a cup of ice coffee and some music by Nathy Peluso 🔥🍑😁

How do you see a coworking space in the year 3000?

Year 3000? 😂 The concept of coworking “space” will have another meaning. Hopefully, we’ll be able to travel between planets and be able to access any Betahaus from other galaxies with our membership 🚀

If you could throw a party at betahaus, what would you do?

I propose a foam party for next betabeers! 🍺 So we can celebrate without keeping a safe distance between us and without having to wash our hands at all times. Perfect for the summer.

What’s a business you wish you had started?

Amazon, for obvious reasons.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen or heard in betahaus?

Terrace on the fourth floor, someone talking on the phone on the fifth floor: “Mom, they called again from the residence, they told me that you use the walking stick to hit people”.

Do you have a hidden talent?

Music!🎶 Play some instruments, but none well 😂 And I used to sing and compose a lot. I don’t do it as much anymore, but you can see a young and naive 18-year-old Olga singing some Alicia Keys over here:

Do you want to share with us something about you that people wouldn’t usually know?

Espanyol supporter! 💙⚽️
